Zombies Happen, Get a Plan

In honor of Sophia Peletier (the Walking Dead) who will not be returning to next season, Anthony (one of my favorite ex-employees that really believes in zombies) and The Center for Disease Control (CDC) for making zombies cool in a special government way.  I have made this Backer Board image.  Like so many of our backer board stickers, This limited edition sticker was made with 6 different variations and will only be available on the comics that arrive 11/30/11.
If you can't wait until to see what will happen next on the Walking Dead, We sell the comics, there a lot of fun.  Also please check out the CDC's website for all your Zombie preparedness. Be safe out there and get a plan.

If you're ready for a zombie apocalypse, then you're ready for any emergency. emergency.cdc.gov

The new DCU, Flashpoint #5 the most comic in the last 28 Years

As most of you know the DC Comics we all know and loved came to an ended with Flashpoint #5 and the New DC Comics started with Justice League #1.   I read both and the promise from DC Comics for exciting reads is true.  Justice League hit all it's marks with a fun and exciting introduction to Batman and Green Lantern and left me craving issue two. Better then any blockbuster movie out there and a 1/3 of the price.
Flashpoint #5 is a different bird, a Land  Mark issue.  As Justice League #1 gets all the media and attention from fans (as it should it's a great read).   Flashpoint #5 Sits quietly, waiting to be read, but is equally a great read.  What makes Flashpoint #5 wonderful is like the comics of 40 and 50 years ago, the book and story can stand alone.  You will understand why this great upheavel in the DC Universe (DCU) is happening, with out feeling cheated or that you do not understand the whole story.  If you haven't read another Flashpoint book, Flashpoint #5 will make you want to read the previous books for the enjoyment of the rich background stories.
Most importantly Flashpoint#5 marks the end of the Modern Age of Comics and brings us into the Digital Age with great hope and vigor.   Truly a great book, one to hold for the grand kids.

FOX 8 day waiting period - Short sighted in the wake of new viewership trends

Fox, in there infinite wisdom has decided to make there internet viewers wait 8 days before they can see there favorite show (except if you have Direct TV, then you can watch them the next day).
Michael Hopkins, President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Fox Networks, said, “We are continually looking at opportunities to provide our pay television distributors with content and products that enhance the value of pay television to subscribers". This seams like a case of the tale wagging the dog and it is contradictory to where the market is moving. More and more cable customers are cutting the high monthly cost of cable and moving to an Internet only option.  What the top Fox Executives are forgetting is, yes a portion of Fox's revenue comes from re-transmission consent fees but it pales to the real money in its VPT or Views Per Transmission fees (advertising to the rest of us).  With channels of higher revenue available, Fox's barrier to viewership seams I’ll conceived, short sighted in the wake of changing consumer viewing habits and ultimately detrimental to Fox’s recent revenue increases from advertising.
